For the 2023-2024 season, SPECIALUTENSILI is the title sponsor of the Under 19 Gold team of “A.s.d. Sporting Club Bitonto”, competing in the federal championship of the category.
How was A.s.d. Sporting Club Bitonto founded?
In March 1974, the sport of basketball officially arrived in the city with the “Città di Bitonto” trophy.
In September of the same year, the newly formed Sporting Club Bitonto Amateur Sports Association began its federal activities, participating in the regional men’s promotion championship.
In the years that followed, the first and historic basketball sports association in Bitonto began to focus on youth development, which would become the club’s flagship, thanks to the creation of the Olimpia Technical Improvement Center and the Minibasket Center.
In the 1980s, the men’s team ranked among the top teams in the regional Serie D.
During the same period, the women’s promotion team entered a provincial competition.
In the 1990s, the men’s program achieved outstanding results in both senior and youth categories. The cadet team of Sporting Club qualified for the national stages, and one of its players, Arcangelo Adriani, was selected for the national team of his age group.
The first team earned promotion to the regional Serie D on the court, while junior and youth teams dominated the provincial scene.
From 2001 to 2020, the club competed in the Apulian Promotion Championship, earning promotion to Serie D in 2021.
For over 20 years, Sporting Club Bitonto has been developing young athletes and coaches to expand the basketball movement beyond the city of Bitonto. A successful project, recognized through achievements in the Minibasket sphere, such as invitations to prestigious events like the International Minibasket Tournament in Piazza (Matera), the National Minibasket Tournament in Codroipo (Udine), the National Easter Minibasket Tournament (Aprilia), the Atri International Cup (Teramo), and by qualifying all youth teams for the regional finals in their respective categories over the last three seasons.
The high qualifications of the technical staff in both the youth and Minibasket sectors ensure that all young prospects in the Sporting Club Bitonto system receive the best technical, tactical, and personal development.
A project that has allowed (in addition to the mentioned regional achievements, with three category titles won by the Under 14-15-16 teams) many prospects raised within Sporting Club’s youth system to join higher-level leagues to attempt the “leap in category.”
Today, Sporting Club Bitonto, in addition to competing in the Under 19 (Gold group) — the most important interregional youth championship — counts among its registered players Giacomo Granieri, born in 2006, on loan to Adria Academy Bari, where he is a standout player in the interregional Serie B championship.
Planning, passion, work ethic, attention to detail: these are the ingredients of Sporting Club Bitonto’s formula to keep an amateur sports association alive for over forty years.
A story that continues also thanks to the invaluable support of partners and sponsors.
Since 2022, SPECIALUTENSILI SRL LD SU has been sponsoring both the senior and youth activities of the association, fully embracing the objectives, projects, and sporting spirit of Sporting Club Bitonto.
In the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 seasons, SPECIALUTENSILI was the title sponsor of the senior teams participating in the Serie D championship.
For the 2023-2024 season, SPECIALUTENSILI is the title sponsor of the Under 19 Gold team, competing in the federal championship of the category.
